Key Skills and Requirements:
Matric Certificate
3+ years' experience as an IT Technician or in a similar role
A+ and N+ certifications (or equivalent) are required
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites if required
Understanding of computer hardware and software troubleshooting
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11)
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to set up and configure desktops, laptops, phones, printers preferred
Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, wireless networks)
Experience working in a domain environment (user accounts, password)
Ability to follow IT processes and escalate issues when necessary
Good communication and customer service skills
Eagerness to learn and grow in a technical environment
Knowledge of vehicle tracking units; Teltonika unit knowledge would be advantageous
Knowledge of vehicle tracking platforms and how they operate
Basic knowledge of vehicle battery voltages and reading wiring diagrams
Basic knowledge of mobile data, APNs, cloud storage, vehicle cameras, Bluetooth beacons

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate would be required but not limited to:
Management of stock levels (safekeeping and ordering)
Management of stock levels of SIM cards associated with the vehicle trackers
Liaising with the Fleet Manager to determine when setups are required, and responding accordingly
Testing of all vehicle tracking units that have been returned
Setup of all vehicle tracking units (panic units and standard trackers)
Primary point of contact for any hardware and software issues
Acting as administrative superuser on the current and new sites
Champion of the camera integration rollout
Research into early warning systems and other new insurance requirements
Research on the use of beacons
Point of contact for the VTR (Vehicle Tracking & Recovery) organisation
Assist with training on the tracking system to ensure effective user adoption
Assist onsite support technicians when queries arise regarding vehicle tracker installations
Proactive monitoring of the tracking system to ensure all units are functioning as they should
Weekly monitoring of vehicle last checkÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂin and eco score reports to identify issues
Monitoring of vehicle battery levels to preÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂwarn branches when batteries are going flat
