Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Terminal Operations Manager to safely, efficiently, and profitably lead our 24/7 terminal operations.
This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the terminal facility, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of LPG, white products (PMS/AGO/DPK), and bitumen.
The successful candidate will ensure product integrity, meet throughput targets, and maintain strict HSE and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day terminal activities, including tanker ship discharge, pipeline scheduling, and road gantry operations.
Production & Throughput: Plan daily schedules to meet customer nominations while achieving throughput and turnaround targets (e.g., truck turnaround <4hrs).
LPG & Bitumen Oversight: Oversee LPG cylinder filling plant operations and bitumen processing/blending to meet product specifications.
Quality & Inventory Control: Ensure product integrity through lab/QC testing and maintain accurate stock accounting, targeting stock losses of <0.3%.
Maintenance & Asset Management: Oversee terminal equipment maintenance in line with API 653 and other industry standards, managing both CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
Safety & Compliance: Champion the company's HSE policy, aiming for zero Lost Time Injury Frequency Rates (LTIFR) and ensuring full compliance with DPR/NMDPRA codes.
Team Management: Lead and coach the terminal team, coordinating with HR for recruitment, training, and performance management to foster a positive work environment.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related discipline.
Experience: 15 - 20 years in engineering or the oil and gas industry, with at least six years specialized in oil terminal operations (including pipeline and tanker/barge shipping).
Supervisory Experience: Minimum of three years in a supervisory role, specifically in fuel terminal maintenance and environmental compliance.
Certifications:
Relevant industrial safety (ISO) and Project Management certifications.
Certified Facility Spill Coordinator and On-Scene Coordinator (40-hour response training).
Current HAZWOPER 24-hour certification for On-Scene Incident Commanders.
Technical & Behavioural Competencies:
Deep Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in LPG handling, white product logistics, and terminal automation systems (SCADA, tank gauging).
Standards Expertise: Strong understanding of API 650, 653, and NFPA 58 standards.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations, such as product transfers and berthing, while maintaining safety leadership.
Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills for interacting with regulators, contractors, and customers.
