Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Theatre Nurse to join our surgical team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting surgeons and anesthetists during operations, ensuring high standards of safety, sterility, and patient care throughout the perioperative process.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the operating theatre and all surgical instruments before, during, and after procedures.
Assist the surgical team during operations, ensuring adherence to aseptic and sterile protocols.
Monitor patients' vital signs and condition during the intraoperative and immediate postoperative period.
Maintain accurate records of procedures, instruments, and supplies used.
Ensure proper handling and care of surgical equipment and instruments.
Participate in infection prevention and control measures and theatre audits.
Support quality assurance, continuous improvement, and adherence to hospital policies and standards.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Valid registration and practicing license with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
Minimum 1-2 years' experience in theatre nursing (scrub and circulating roles).
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, infection control, and theatre protocols.
