Key Duties
Pre-operative Responsibilities
Prepare the operating theatre, instruments, and equipment according to the surgical list.
Conduct thorough pre-operative patient assessments and ensure all documentation is complete.
Confirm surgical consent, patient identity, and site marking.
Uphold strict infection prevention and control standards.
Intra-operative Responsibilities
Scrub, circulate, or assist depending on the surgical procedure requirements.
Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout procedures.
Perform instrument, sponge, and sharp counts accurately.
Monitor patient vitals and respond promptly to changes during surgery.
Operate theatre equipment safely and efficiently.
Post-operative Responsibilities
Participate in immediate post-operative care and safe handover to the recovery unit.
Document all nursing interventions, observations, and incidents accurately.
Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and storage of theatre equipment and instruments.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Nursing
Higher Diploma in Perioperative/Theatre Nursing (Mandatory)
Valid NCK License
Minimum 2 years theatre experience
Strong skills in sterile technique, patient safety & perioperative care
