Job Description
Our client, a global industrial technology and manufacturing leader, is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to drive export control, customs compliance, and trade governance across the SSA region. This is a specialist advisory role requiring strong legislative interpretation, compliance implementation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain the Global Trade Program locally.
Advise stakeholders on trade regulations and compliance requirements.
Conduct trade reviews, audits, and corrective actions.
Localise and implement global SOPs.
Drive export control, customs compliance, and awareness initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Degree: BCom Supply Chain Management, BCom Law/LLB, or BCom Accounting (Auditing/Taxation).
Experience: 5+ years' permanent employment experience, including 3+ years in Trade Compliance with a focus on Export Controls.
Experience at Manager or Senior Specialist level.
Strong knowledge of South African customs legislation, DTIC, NRCS, and regulatory compliance.
Proven experience developing and implementing SOPs.
Must have served as a trade compliance advisor/custodian within an organisation.
Non-Negotiable Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of INCOTERMS.
Export Controls and sanctions compliance.
South African customs legislation and compliance.
SAP GTS (Vision 11 or HANA) active daily user.
