Duties
The job holder will act as a Contractor Escort and Trades Helper for post's facility management section. As a contractor escort, job holder will be expected to follow all protocols for escorting contractors to the facility compound. As a Trades Helper, job holder will assist the technicians of the skilled trades in the performance of routine and preventive maintenance, and new installations and demolition work. In addition to assisting the skilled trade technicians, the incumbent may be assigned tasks including material handling, painting, custodial type work, snow removal, common laborer work, and grounds maintenance and gardening work. Job holders may be expected to work in adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes, indoors or outdoors to complete work assignments.

Requirements:
All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a:
Public Trust security clearance.
All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time 12 weeks upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Education Requirements:
Completion of grade 10 is required.
Completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing skilled technicians in one of the construction fields leading to entry level certification (level one (1)) in a construction trade; electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, welding, or similar.
