Overview
The MCGL / RISE-IHP project is a comprehensive initiative aimed at strengthening the Primary Healthcare (PHC) system in Nigeria, with a focus on improving Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, Nutrition (MNCH+N), Reproductive Health, routine immunization, malaria, and HIV services.
The project seeks to enhance community engagement, accountability,and referral pathways to improve healthcare outcomes, particularly for Women ofReproductive Age, caregivers, and their partners.
As part of this effort, communityengagement and materials, including job aids, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) messages, posters, flipcharts, leaflets, and advocacy materials,need to be adapted from existing materials for Community-Based Health Volunteers (CBHVs) and Ward Development Committees (WDCs) to mobilize and engage communities, promote health services, and support referral pathways.
Responsibilities
Conduct a desk review: Review existing community engagement and accountability materials, including job aids, IVR messages, posters, flipcharts, leaflets, and advocacy materials, to identify relevant content for adaptation.
Conduct stakeholder consultations: Consult with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community representatives, to inform the adaptation process.
Facilitate an adaptation workshop: Facilitate a workshop with stakeholders to:
Define target audience and key messages
Review and adapt existing materials for CBHVs and WDCs
Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
Develop draft adapted materials: Develop draft adapted materials, including job aids, IVR messages, posters, flipcharts, leaflets, and advocacy materials, incorporating workshop feedback.
Review and finalize materials: Review draft adapted materials with stakeholders and finalize materials for pretesting and rollout.
Develop a pretesting plan: Develop a plan for pretesting adapted materials with target audiences.
Provide guidance on rollout: Provide guidance on rollout of adapted materials, including training and distribution plans.
Required Qualifications
Experience in health communication and community engagement
Knowledge of MNCH+N, routine immunization, malaria, and HIV programs
Strong facilitation and training skills
Familiarity with Nigerian context and PHC system
