Key Responsibilities
Truck Positioning and Yard Management
Coordinate truck movement within the yard and warehouse premises.
Ensure trucks are positioned at designated loading and unloading bays according to dispatch schedules.
Monitor truck queues and prioritize positioning based on operational requirements.
Coordinate parking and staging arrangements to avoid congestion.
Ensure trucks vacate loading areas immediately upon completion of activities.
Monitor availability of loading bays and communicate constraints proactively.
Warehouse Coordination
Receive loading schedules and coordinate truck allocation accordingly.
Communicate loading priorities and vehicle requirements to warehouse supervisors.
Monitor loading progress and provide updates to transport operations.
Escalate delays affecting dispatch schedules.
Ensure correct truck assignment for specific customer orders.
Dispatch Documentation Control
Verify all dispatch documents before truck departure.
Ensure availability of supporting Requesting Rates/Quotations from Transporters. documents e.g Delivery Notes, Waybills,Dispatch Orders,Transfer Notes, Security Release Documents,Loading Checklists
Confirm documentation corresponds with loaded cargo.
Maintain dispatch records and filing systems.
Track proof of deliveries and returned documents.
Compliance, Safety and Quality
Ensure compliance with company operational procedures.
Promote safe vehicle movements within the facility.
Communication and Reporting
Escalate loading delays, documentation discrepancies, and stock variances.
Minimum Qualifications
Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.
