Description
This role oversees vehicles, drivers, and goods in transit, ensuring a seamless supply of vehicles for loading and delivery while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and manage daily transport operations for distribution activities.
Ensure timely supply of vehicles for loading and delivery based on dispatch schedules.
Monitor goods in transit to ensure on-time and intact delivery to distributors and customers.
Track vehicle movements, fuel usage, and delivery timelines.
Coordinate with warehouse, sales, and logistics teams to align transport needs with delivery plans.
Handle transport-related issues such as delays, breakdowns, accidents, or delivery discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, trip sheets, fuel consumption, and transport costs.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, traffic laws, and company transport policies.
Support cost control initiatives by optimizing routes and vehicle utilization.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc in Logistics,Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
2 - 5 years experience in transport or logistics operations, preferably in an FMCG or distribution company.
Good understanding of fleet management and goods distribution processes.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deliveries simultaneously.
Basic knowledge of route planning and cost control.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
