About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Manager with practical hands-on experience in Clearing & Forwarding and a strong understanding of the end-to-end cargo movement process. The successful candidate will lead transport operations, optimize fleet utilization, manage transporters, ensure customs and regulatory compliance, and deliver efficient cargo movement across regional transit routes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily transport planning, dispatch, and delivery operations.
Optimize fleet allocation, routing, and transporter utilization.
Manage transporter performance, vendor relationships, and rate negotiations.
Oversee customs and transit documentation (including T1, Exit Notes, and related documentation).
Coordinate with Customs, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless cargo movement.
Monitor transport costs, KPIs, and operational performance while driving continuous improvement.
Lead and develop the transport team to achieve operational excellence.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, Business, or a related field.
5 - 7 years' experience in transport or logistics operations, with at least 3 years in a management role.
Proven practical experience in Clearing & Forwarding with a solid understanding of the end-to-end logistics process.
Strong knowledge of customs procedures, regional transit operations, and regulatory compliance.
Experience with ERP or Transport Management Systems is an added advantage.
