Job Summary
The Turbines Field Operator is responsible for conducting routine inspections, monitoring local equipment, and performing field operations to ensure the safe and reliable operation of steam turbines and associated auxiliaries. This role plays a critical part in start-up, shutdown, and emergency handling, working in coordination with the DCS operator and Shift Engineer
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct regular field inspections of turbine, condenser, pumps, and lube oil systems.
Monitor vibration, temperature, pressure, and flow using local gauges.
Report abnormalities (leaks, noise, overheating) to the Shift Engineer.
Assist in turbine start-up and shutdown procedures.
Support DCS operator in synchronizing and load changes.
Check condition of auxiliary systems (seal oil, vacuum pumps, GSCs).
Participate in routine equipment checks and log observations.
Ensure field safety compliance and use of PPE.
Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of turbine floor area.
Provide help in emergency shutdown and plant isolation activities
Educational Qualification and Work Experience
Diploma or HND Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Certification is an added advantage. (Turbine Field Operator Certificate preferred).
Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience in turbine field operations in a cogeneration or thermal plant.
