Qualification
Education, Skills and Experience
PhD in counselling or its equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
Post-graduate Diploma in Counselling from an accredited institution.
3 years' experience at Grade 11 within MKU or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution.
Be registered with and be active members of professional associations in his/her profession where applicable.
OR
Master's degree in Counselling.
Post-graduate Diploma in Counselling from an accredited institution.
5 years' experience in Grade 11 within MKU or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution.

Duties and Responsibilities
Promote the student's welfare in terms of psychological, emotional, social and mental well-being.
Provide career guidance and placement services in collaboration with academic departments.
Organize and coordinate public lecturers for students and staff.
Organize and implement seminars and workshops for the enhancement of personal growth and development for students and staff.
Implement guidance and counselling policies within the university.
Liaise with other counselling organizations to enhance service provision.
Provide information for planning and budgeting for guidance and counselling programmes.
Offer extension services in collaboration with the social welfare departments.
Mediate between the external community and the university in order to foster healthy relationships.
Liaise with the Dean of Students and any other relevant offices for the well-being of the institution.
Performing any other duty that may be assigned to you from time to time by the dean of students.
