Role Objective.
The personnel will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and timely transportation of goods, equipment, and authorized personnel. The driver will manage daily urban routes and out of town routes, ensure proper vehicle upkeep, and maintain accurate delivery records.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate company vans, pickups, or light trucks across Nairobi, surrounding urban areas and out of town.
Plan optimal daily delivery routes to bypass traffic congestion and save fuel.
Adhere strictly to Kenyan traffic laws, NTSA speed limits, and safety regulations.
Supervise and assist with loading and unloading cargo/packages to prevent goods damage.
Ensure proper weight distribution and secure tie-downs before departing.
Perform daily pre-trip checks (oil levels, coolant, tire pressure, brakes, lights).
Maintain vehicle cleanliness inside and out.
Schedule routine maintenance and report mechanical issues immediately to management.
Ensure valid NTSA inspection stickers, insurance, and road licenses are displayed on the vehicle at all times.
Complete accurate daily mileage logbooks and delivery receipts/delivery notes.
Perform other related tasks allocated.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
Valid NTSA Driving License with Class B, C1, or C
4 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in Nairobi.
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct/Police Clearance Certificate.
A clean driving record.
In depth knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices.
Key Competencies
In-depth knowledge of Nairobi routes.
Basic mechanics/troubleshooting knowledge.
Punctual.
Honest.
