The Opportunity
This position offers an excellent balance between professional development and personal wellbeing. There are no after-hours duties, with patients requiring overnight or intensive care referred to nearby specialists and referral hospitals. This allows the veterinary team to focus on delivering high-quality clinical care while maintaining sustainable working hours.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified and SAVC-registered Veterinarian with approximately 2 - 3 years of small animal clinical experience. Newly qualified veterinarians with the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
Ensure all team members provide quality and ethical care to all clients and their pets.
Assess, examine, and diagnose patients' medical issues.
Perform surgery, dress, and treat wounds.
Perform diagnostic laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required.
Prescribe medication.
Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations.
Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices for pets.
Euthanise patients if and when needed.
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Maintain patients' medical records.
