Purpose
To engage key short-term consultants who will translate messages from English into Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi, develop and finalize graphic designs, and produce audio and video messages in four language versions English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi in support of the ITN distribution project in the FCT.
Rationale for the Consultancy
The assignment is justified by the need to translate messages for print materials and audio/video scripts from English into Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi; develop graphic designs for print materials; and produce audio and video messages in four language versions: English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi.
The majority of the target population are either low-literate or non-literate, hence the need to produce communication materials in appropriate local languages for the target audience.
Specific Task, Deliverables and Person Specification
Tasks for Video Producer
The selected videographer will:
Receive the English versions of the scripts of the video jingles from FCT-MEP and MC officials
Produce draft video jingles/messages in four language versions English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi from the approved scripts and submit to FCT-MEP and MC for review.
Revise the draft of the dry video recording of the 4 language versions, based on feedback comments from FCT-MEP and MC
Finalize the production of 4 language versions of the video jingles and submit to FCT-MEP and MC.
Deliverable for Video Producer:
Finalized video jingles/messages in four language versions English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi revised based on feedback and submitted in broadcast-ready and digital-ready formats to Malaria Consortium.
Person Specification
At least a First Degree or Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication, Film/Video Production, Theatre Arts, Media Studies or a related field.
Minimum of five years' relevant experience in video production, editing, post-production and delivery of broadcast-ready or digital-ready outputs.
Extensive experience in video production, including development of short jingles, campaign videos, public service announcements or social behaviour change communication materials.
Ability to produce video messages in English, Hausa, Pidgin English and Gbagyi, including coordination of voice-over, subtitling, editing and language adaptation where required.
Demonstrated ability to translate campaign scripts into simple, culturally appropriate and visually engaging video content for rural and low-literacy audiences.
Proficiency in professional video editing and post-production software, with capacity to deliver high-quality files in formats suitable for television, social media and community dissemination.
Strong interpersonal skills, responsiveness to feedback and ability to meet agreed production timelines.
