About the Role
The Warehouse Supervisor is to provide high level of inventory and warehouse management expertise that will enable us to gain and maintain competitive edge over competition.
The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods. You are responsible for a vital part of the supply chain process, you'll manage people, processes and systems in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately, and that productivity targets are met.
You'll also be responsible for workplace health and safety standards, housekeeping and for the security of the building and stock.
Requirements
Warehouse Operations:
Coordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of raw and packaging materials.
Ensure timely and accurate material issuance to support uninterrupted production operations.
Optimize the utilization of warehouse resources, including manpower, forklifts, storage space, and materials.
Liaise with Engineering to ensure prompt repair and maintenance of warehouse equipment, minimizing downtime.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Stock & Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure effective stock control, achieving a minimum Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) of 95% monthly.
Monitor and enforce FIFO/FEFO principles while implementing initiatives to minimize waste, losses, and stock expiries.
Conduct routine stock counts, reconciliations, and inventory investigations to resolve discrepancies.
Ensure stock control systems are updated and inventory transactions are accurately recorded.
Facility, Housekeeping, Health, Safety & Environment:
Maintain a safe, secure, and organized warehouse environment, ensuring compliance with HSE standards.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of raw and packaging materials.
Oversee housekeeping activities, including waste disposal and pallet area management.
Support the operation and maintenance of warehouse management systems and material handling equipment.
Relationship Management:
Collaborate with Production, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
Liaise with suppliers, transporters, and relevant service providers as required.
Support the timely resolution of operational issues and internal customer concerns.
Data Management & Reporting:
Coordinate the use of warehouse management and inventory control systems.
Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse performance reports, including space utilization, inventory accuracy, and blocked/scrapped stock reports.
Brief team leaders regularly on operational performance, priorities, and improvement initiatives.
Team Management & Compliance:
Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse personnel to ensure high productivity and adherence to operational standards.
Monitor employee performance and identify training and development needs.
Promote teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement within the warehouse team.
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer standards.
Internal & External Policy Compliance:
Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these.
Manage compliance requirements for internal and external customers Qualifications & Requirements
Bsc/HND/OND Accounting/Business Administration/Purchasing & Supply or its equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in warehouse or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of inventory control principles, including FIFO and stock reconciliation.
Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong supervisory and team management experience.
Good understanding of warehouse safety and operational best practices.
