Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:


Develop, maintain, and enhance the University's websites and web portals;
Manage content management systems and ensure content accuracy and timeliness;
Ensure website security, accessibility, responsiveness, and optimal performance;
Monitor website usage and implement continual improvements to enhance user experience;
Support University branding, online visibility, and digital communication initiatives;
Design, develop, implement, and maintain software applications that support University operations;
Gather user requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions;
Develop web-based systems, portals, dashboards, and workflow automation solutions;
Support software testing, deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of institutional applications;
Develop and maintain Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and related integrations;
Design, develop, and maintain databases to support institutional systems;
Ensure data integrity, availability, confidentiality, and security across University systems;
Integrate institutional systems and third-party platforms to facilitate seamless data exchange;
Support interoperability and data exchange between various University applications and systems;
Troubleshoot website, software application, and systems-related issues;
Prepare and maintain technical documentation for developed systems and applications;
Train and support end users on institutional systems and digital platforms where necessary;
Recommend and implement emerging technologies and innovative solutions that improve service delivery;
Participate in institutional ICT projects, system implementations, and digital transformation initiatives;
Comply with University ICT policies, standards, and procedures;
Perform any other ICT-related duties assigned by the Information Technology Services Manager.


Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:


A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Web Development, or a related field from a recognized institution;
At least three (3) years of relevant experience in web development, software application development, systems support, or enterprise systems management;
Demonstrate experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining web-based applications and institutional information systems;
Proficiency in modern web development technologies, including front-end and back-end development frameworks;
Experience in database design, administration, and management;
Experience in systems integration, API development, and data exchange between applications;
Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, business process automation, and workflow management solutions;
Knowledge of software development methodologies, application security, cybersecurity best practices, and secure coding principles;
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills;
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver innovative technology solutions that support the University's digital transformation agenda;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Internet applications, and relevant software development and database management tools;
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
Evidence of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning and innovation;
