Duties & Responsibilities
Cutting, cleaning, and aligning metal parts before welding.
Welding and joining metals as needed by use of welding processes MIG, TIG, arc, gas welding, etc.) to join metal parts.
Setting up, adjusting, and maintaining welding machines and tools.
Checking quality, strength, and accuracy of welds to meet standards.
Fixing damaged metal parts or creating new structures.
Wearing protective gear (PPE) and ensuring safe welding practices.
Smoothing welded joints and preparing surfaces for painting or further processing.
Reading and interpreting blueprints/drawings
Report in writing discrepancies in condition that will require corrective, predictive or planned maintenance actions.
Maintain record of daily and monthly welding consumables consumption to ensure that it adheres to budget.
Qualification And Requirements
KCSE- Kenya certificate of secondary education, GTT I in Welding and Fabrication or Technical Certificate /Diploma/Higher Diploma - Welding
2-3 years' Proven experience as a Welder.
Equipment Management- Set up, operate and maintain welding equipment and tools.
Safety Compliances- Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safety working environment.
