QUALIFICATIONS


Grade 12
Full N2 certificate with relevant trade theory
Welding certificate


SKILLS REQUIREMENTS


1 year's relevant plant experience in a heavy industry environment
Pendant crane and Forklift license will be an added advantage
Good communication skills
Able to work under pressure, Initiative
Knowledge of the HSEC system


JOB OBJECTIVES

In this role you will be reporting to the Artisan Coordinator for the following:


Carry out a variety of tasks related to mechanical maintenance and casing welding
Adhere to safety, environment, quality, and housekeeping standards
Comply with all regulations and procedures
Maintain plant availability and operational stability in accordance with required standards
Planned maintenance and shutdowns
Hoist Electrode Casings to Casing Floor
Lifting and Lowering of Casings for Installation
Welding and Grinding of Casings
Quality Inspections and Sign-off on Casings after Installation
Maintain Casing Critical Stock
Good Housekeeping on Furnace Casing and Ground Floor
Ensure Casing Support Rings delivered on time to Stores
Reporting and Recording of Casing Information
Reporting of unsafe conditions and damaged equipment
Overtime will be worked when so required
Shift work can be expected during shutdowns
Standby work will be worked when required
