Job Description


We are seeking to hire Wind Turbine Technicians with hands-on experience specifically in wind turbine maintenance and operations to support our wind farm in Marsabit, Kenya. This role is suited for experienced field technicians who are confident working in turbine environments and can independently execute maintenance activities while adhering to strict safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate is technically competent, safety-focused, and comfortable working at height in challenging remote site conditions.


Key Responsibilities


Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on wind turbine generators, including inspections, lubrication, and system servicing.
Execute corrective maintenance activities such as replacement of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components (e.g., cables, filters, sensors, gear oil systems).
Carry out fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, escalating complex issues where necessary.
Strictly follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all wind turbine safety protocols, including working-at-height requirements.
Ensure consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and full compliance with HSE and industry safety standards.
Complete accurate maintenance reports, service logs, and inspection documentation in line with operational requirements.
Identify, report, and support resolution of technical issues to minimize turbine downtime and optimize performance.
Participate in emergency response activities and training, including tower rescue, fire safety, and first aid drills.


Required Qualifications


Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
3 - 5 years of proven hands-on experience as a Wind Turbine Technician in wind energy operations or maintenance.
Strong practical experience working with wind turbine systems (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic).
Certification or training in wind turbine safety, working at heights, or LOTO procedures is an added advantage.
Physically fit and comfortable working in remote locations, at heights, and in harsh weather conditions.
Strong team collaboration skills, disciplined safety mindset, and ability to work independently under supervision structures.
