WordPress Engineer

About the Role

• We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented WordPress Engineer to develop, maintain, and optimize WordPress websites for our US-based clients. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in WordPress development, front-end and back-end technologies, website security, and performance optimization.
• This role requires someone with excellent problem-solving skills who can troubleshoot technical issues, build responsive websites, and ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing web solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes, plugins, and third-party integrations.
• Build responsive, user-friendly websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Troubleshoot and resolve website, database, and server-related issues.
• Manage WordPress updates, website performance, and security enhancements.
• Implement SEO best practices to improve website visibility and search engine rankings.
• Work with Linux servers and command-line tools to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Monitor website functionality, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Identify and address vulnerabilities associated with WordPress installations, themes, plugins, and server configurations.
• Collaborate with team members and support US-based clients to deliver effective technical solutions.

Required Skills and Competencies

• WordPress Development: Strong understanding of themes, plugins, hooks, filters, the REST API, template hierarchy, and user roles.
• HTML and CSS: Ability to build and maintain responsive layouts and user-friendly interfaces.
• PHP: Proficiency in developing WordPress themes, plugins, and server-side functionality.
• JavaScript: Ability to implement interactive features and work with modern WordPress blocks.
• Linux and Command-Line Tools: Experience using CLI tools to troubleshoot and debug technical issues.
• SQL and Database Management: Understanding of database structures, queries, and how WordPress stores content and settings.
• SEO: Knowledge of on-page SEO and technical optimization techniques.
• Website Security: Understanding of common WordPress and server vulnerabilities and how to prevent or mitigate them.
• Troubleshooting: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and provide technical support to US-based clients.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in software development, with relevant WordPress development experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting WordPress websites.
• Strong understanding of front-end and back-end web technologies
