Role Purpose

The Workshop Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily maintenance and repair operations for buses and trucks within the workshop. The role ensures efficient deployment of manpower and resources, adherence to safety and quality standards, accurate maintenance documentation, and optimal fleet reliability. The position requires strong supervisory, technical, and operational coordination skills and involves working on rotating shifts.

Key Duties & Responsibilities


Workshop Operations Supervision
Oversee daily maintenance activities for all buses and trucks.
Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules and resource allocation.
Organize work activities and deploy manpower efficiently.
Ensure Job Cards are opened and recorded for all vehicles received daily.
Maintain service and maintenance records for buses and trucks.
Conduct audits of maintenance and workshop operations for quality review.
Oversee housekeeping and ensure availability of workshop tools, equipment, and consumables.
Propose and implement workflow improvements to enhance fleet maintenance efficiency.
Technical Oversight & Support
Provide technical guidance and advice to mechanics and maintenance teams.
Raise spare parts requisitions and coordinate with procurement and stores.
Supervise contractors performing specialized repairs (bodywork, painting, engine, gearbox, etc.) to ensure safety and quality compliance.
Oversee on-road recovery operations for breakdowns and accident incidents.
Team Supervision & Development
Coordinate work across multiple maintenance teams.
Manage team performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Provide on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and technical development.
Compliance, Safety & Reporting
Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Prepare daily inspection and maintenance reports for management.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of operational records and documentation.
Perform any other duties assigned by Management from time to time.


Qualifications & Experience


Diploma/Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Experience in heavy commercial vehicle, bus, or fleet maintenance
Minimum 5-10 years workshop experience, including supervisory exposure preferred
Knowledge of maintenance planning, job card systems, and spare parts management
