Key performance areas
Prepare laboratories and practical work areas for Physical Sciences and Life Sciences lessons.
Assist teachers with demonstrations, experiments, and practical assessments.
Set up, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and materials.
Prepare and label solutions, reagents, and biological specimens.
Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and laboratory waste.
Maintain accurate inventories of equipment, chemicals, and consumables.
Support procurement processes by liaising with suppliers and checking deliveries.
Keep laboratory records, schedules, and safety documentation up to date.
Reinforce safety rules and procedures with learners during practical sessions.
Communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans with staff and learners
Qualifications, experience and skills
South African youth between 18 and 34 years old.
Stipend range: R5 241,00 - R6 000,00 per month.
Must be previously unemployed.
National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
A tertiary qualification in Physical Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biology, Laboratory Technology or related field would be advantageous.
Valid SACE registration/certificate (essential).
Previous laboratory experience in a school or scientific environment (advantageous).
Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and safety practices.
Computer literacy - Microsoft Office and general applications.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in English and Afrikaans.
Comfortable working with highÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂschool learners in a professional environment.
A valid driver's licence and police clearance certificate (advantageous).
