(1886) Associate Trade Settlement Officer - FMD

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following key performance areas: Manage the end-to-end settlement of domestic financial market transactions. Process and authorise bond, money market and repo transactions. Capture and verify settlement and accounting transactions accurately. Ensure compliance with Strate rules, regulations and SARB policies. Monitor settlement deadlines and ensure timely processing of transactions. Manage collateral activities, including lodging, release and substitution of collateral. Perform daily reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly. Investigate and resolve failed, rejected or unmatched settlement transactions. Provide settlement support and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and clients. Maintain accurate records and support process improvements and automation initiatives. Participate in strategic and operational projects. Qualifications To be considered for this position, candidates must have: a Diploma in Financial Management (NQF6) or an equivalent qualification; and a minimum of two to five years' job-related experience. The following would be an added advantage: completed STRATE and/or JSE settlement certificate. excellent interpersonal skills. excellent communication skills (verbal and written). a high degree of self-motivation. Additional requirements include: in-depth knowledge and understanding of domestic financial markets, instruments and stakeholders. working knowledge and understanding of domestic market systems (e.g., collateral systems, Flexcube, SWIFT, SAMOS). customer service orientation. proficiency in Microsoft Office products. willingness to occasionally work overtime when required; and proven ability to multi-task, deliver results, and respond quickly and effectively to requests.
