Key Responsibility Areas:
Developing sector support business plans in line with the economic strategy
Leading sector support programme implementation in sub- programme areas identified in the overall programme
Providing specialist support for Council decision making in relation to policy and sector support
Undertaking research when required, as part of sector support programme or policy formulation
Undertaking sector support duties
Making representations on the policy and on behalf of the sector programme, any subprogrammes identified to the Council or external groups
Undertaking related assignments
Maintaining an intelligence relating to national, provincial and local policies and legislation relating to the programme area
Ensuring that while the sector support programmes benefits the city economically, it takes into account the objectives of the environmental development
Ensuring support for the establishment and implementation of the Units Performance Management System by liaising with Unit Head
Essential Requirements:
Degree (NQF Level 7) in Economics or Development Economics or any other related and equivalent qualification.
Valid motor vehicle driving license.
5 Years relevant experience.
