Key Responsibility Areas:
Planning, estimating and allocating work.
Management of projects.
Team lead on projects.
Control of mapping grade global positioning systems.
Undertakes reconnaissance and planning of projects.
Establishes survey control.
Surveying by global position system.
Performs levelling, semi precise levelling and precise levelling.
Undertakes detailed topographical surveys.
Hand plan preparation and dealing in land legal matters.
Undertakes encroachments surveys.
Undertakes construction surveys.
Performs cross section and long section surveys.
Location and pointing out of beacons.
Undertake monitoring surveys.
Calculation of earthwork volumes and areas.
Undertakes as built surveys.
Using specialised survey computer software and hardware.
Liaison with the public, community leaders, contractors and other technical staff.
Administrative duties.
Essential Requirements:
Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Geomatics or Surveying field.
Registration as a Geomatics Technician with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC).
Valid motor vehicle driving license.
5 Years relevant post qualification experience.
Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements:
Degree (NQF Level 7) in the Geomatics or Surveying field.
6 Years relevant post qualification experience.
