Role Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the oil and gas sector for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager (Chartered Accountant) to lead the finance function, ensure strong financial controls, and oversee reporting, compliance, and audit activities.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in audit, financial management, and QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements
Manage and coordinate internal and external audits
Develop and enforce internal controls and financial policies
Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Oversee QuickBooks implementation, optimisation, and reporting
Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies
Provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7 - 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
Chartered Accountant (ICAN/ACCA or equivalent) - Mandatory
Strong background in audit (internal or external)
Proficiency in QuickBooks (very important)
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax, and compliance
Experience in oil & gas / marine services is an added advantage.
