The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Kenyan statutory requirements, and supporting budgeting and audit processes.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with IFRS and company policies
Record and reconcile general ledger entries, bank statements, and intercompany transactions
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and collections
Statutory Compliance (Kenya)
Prepare and file PAYE, VAT, and Withholding Tax returns with KRA
Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax laws and regulations
Coordinate statutory deductions (NSSF, NHIF) and payroll reconciliations
Support internal and external audits and respond to audit queries
Budgeting & Controls
Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis
Monitor expenses and ensure cost controls
Support cash flow planning and forecasting
Coordination & Support
Liaise with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies
Support management with financial analysis and reports as required
Maintain proper financial documentation and records
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent qualification (preferred or in progress)
Minimum 2 - 3 years of relevant accounting experience
Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax and statutory requirements
Experience working with accounting software (Odoo)
