Job Summary


Afripoint Group is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, support budgeting processes, and ensure full compliance with statutory and internal financial regulations across the Group and its subsidiaries.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, payroll administration, cost control, and audit support, contributing to the organization's financial stability and growth.


Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis:


Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Generate income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
Provide financial insights and analysis to support management decisions


Budgeting & Cost Control:


Assist in the preparation of group-wide budgets
Monitor expenses against budgets and report variances
Support cost optimization across departments and subsidiaries


Accounts Payable & Receivable:


Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
Track receivables and follow up on outstanding payments
Maintain accurate ledger records


Payroll & Statutory Compliance:


Support payroll preparation and ensure accuracy
Implement and monitor PAYE and pension deductions (Nigeria compliant)
Ensure timely remittance of statutory obligations (VAT, WHT, PAYE, Pension)


Bank & Account Reconciliation:


Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Investigate and resolve discrepancies
Maintain proper cash flow tracking


Audit & Internal Controls:


Maintain proper documentation for audits
Support internal and external audit processes
Ensure compliance with company financial policies


Asset & Financial Records Management:


Maintain asset register and depreciation schedules
Track company assets across locations
Ensure proper record keeping and filing systems


Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage


Experience:


Minimum of 2 - 5 years relevant accounting experience
Experience working in a multi-entity or group structure is an advantage


Required Skills:


Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Good understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory requirements
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
