Key Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining and updating general ledger accounts.
Support the preparation and processing of journal entries, invoices, payments, and receipts.
Help reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Provide support in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Prepare schedules and documentation for audits under supervision.
Assist in ensuring compliance with Kenyan tax laws and preparation of tax returns (PAYE, VAT, withholding taxes)
Help maintain fixed assets registers and depreciation schedules.
Support the timely submission of statutory reports and filings.
Support payroll processing by preparing and verifying employee salary schedules, statutory deductions, and allowances, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and Kenyan regulations.
Help maintain internal controls and adherence to financial policies.
Assist in budget preparation and monitoring of expenses.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce with Finance or Accounting option from a recognized institution (recent graduates or final-year students encouraged to apply).
CPA qualification or ongoing CPA studies is an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, SAGE, QuickBooks, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
