Duties and responsibilities
Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
Revenue management
Prepare general ledger postings and statements
Daily enter key data of financial transactions in data base
Extraction of monthly fee balances and vote head summaries
Assist in the preparation of budget estimates anticipated income by vote head
Ensure all accountable documents are properly filed and easily retrievable for audit purposes
Prepare financial management reports, verify invoices, undertake monthly bank reconciliations, and reconcile debtors and creditors registers
Verify payment vouchers and supporting documents before payment
Prepare payroll and statutory deductions
Requirements
A pass in part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), or Business Administration (Accounting option) from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Institute of certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and in good standing
Hands on experience with spreadsheets and financial reporting in Conformity with IPSAS
Proven accounting experience of at least 5 years preferably in accounts receivable
Proficiency in accounting packages
Must have basic skills on how to operate office equipment
Above the age of 30 years
