Role Overview
The Spare Parts & General Stores Accountant will be responsible for managing financial activities related to spare parts inventory and general stores. The role ensures accurate tracking, valuation, and control of inventory while supporting overall supply chain finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of spare parts and general stores inventory
Monitor stock movements, including receipts, issues, and transfers
Perform periodic inventory reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Ensure proper valuation of inventory in line with accounting standards
Work closely with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure effective stock control
Prepare inventory reports and provide insights for decision-making
Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard inventory assets
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3 - 5 years of relevant experience in inventory or supply chain accounting
Strong understanding of inventory management and cost accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or in progress) is an added advantage
Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, oil & gas, or supply chain environment
