An Area Sales Manager in Olam Agri is responsible for leading and driving sales, distribution, and market development activities within the assigned region to achieve business growth and profitability objectives.
The role is accountable for delivering regional sales targets, strengthening distribution networks, expanding market coverage, and developing high-performing teams.
The Regional Sales Manager ensures effective execution of sales strategies, promotional initiatives, and new product launches while fostering strong relationships with distributors and key market stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Sales Growth:


Develop and execute regional sales plans aligned with business objectives and distribution strategy.
Drive sales, revenue, and market share growth by achieving quarterly and annual targets.


Sales & Distribution Management:


Lead regional sales and distribution operations to ensure target achievement and execution excellence.
Expand distribution reach, improve market coverage, and strengthen route-to-market effectiveness.


Market & Channel Management:


Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, channel partners, and key customers.
Support channel effectiveness by improving product availability, visibility, and coverage.


Sales Promotion & Market Development:


Plan and execute promotional campaigns, market development initiatives, and product launches.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize market penetration and distribution objectives.


Team Leadership & People Development:


Lead, coach, and develop regional sales teams to deliver high performance.
Foster a results-driven culture through training, mentoring, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.


Job Requirements

Qualifications


MBA or Post-Graduate Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a relevant discipline.


Experience:


3 - 5 years of post-qualification experience in sales and distribution.
Proven experience in managing regional sales operations and achieving sales targets.
Experience in channel management, distributor handling, and market development.
Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, geography, and customer demographics.
Experience in FMCG, Agri-business, Consumer Goods, or related industries is preferred.
