Job Summary
Little Sprouts Schools Abuja is seeking a creative, passionate, and experienced Art Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Art across both Primary and High School levels, nurturing students' creativity, and helping learners develop practical visual arts skills.
The successful candidate must possess strong artistic and instructional abilities, demonstrate proven experience preparing students for internal and external examinations, and have a track record of identifying and developing artistic talent in learners.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art lessons for Primary and High School students.
Teach practical and theoretical aspects of Visual Arts in accordance with the school curriculum.
Prepare students for Year 9 and Year 12 examination classes.
Coach and prepare students for external examinations including:
WAEC
NECO
Cambridge IGCSE
Checkpoint Assessments
Develop and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment strategies.
Encourage creativity, innovation, and artistic expression among learners.
Identify, nurture, and develop students' artistic talents and creative potential.
Organize and supervise art exhibitions, competitions, and creative projects.
Assess and monitor students' academic and creative progress.
Maintain classroom discipline and a conducive learning environment.
Demonstrate flexibility in teaching other related subjects when assigned.
Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and extracurricular activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Arts or related discipline.
PGDE (Postgraduate Diploma in Education) is required.
Valid TRCN Certification.
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Art and related subject areas.
Excellent practical knowledge of Visual Arts techniques and application.
Proven ability to nurture and develop artistic talents in learners.
Demonstrated success in preparing students for:
WAEC
NECO
Cambridge IGCSE
Checkpoint
Experience handling Year 9 and Year 12 examination classes.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
