Introduction


Area of specialization: To perform in a safe and effective manner power line inspections, servitude and line maintenance, including defect repairs and restoration tasks on transmission lines using approved tools, equipment, procedures and techniques to ensure optimal line performance and sustainable and continuous quality of supply. Task Grade: T09. Department: Lines and Servitudes. Location: Western Cape - Bellville (Stikland).


Job Description
Key Responsibilities:


Perform under supervision line inspections, servitude maintenance hardware defect repairs and operating
Perform line fault investigations
Assist in restoration operations during power line emergencies
Ensure compliance with safety, health and environment policies
Operate, inspect and maintain tools and equipment
Enhance customer and stakeholder relations

ORHVS authorisation outcome 2 to take, handover the line under supervision
Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and hazardous substances
Basic line component identification
Vegetation management
Principles of electrical theory
Level 3 maintenance competency authorisation

Minimum requirements

Qualification(s):


Trade Certificate Electrical (Light Current/Heavy Current) at NQF4 with 120 credits


Experience:


NTCSA network and discipline related equipment (Lines and Servitudes)
