Job Summary


The Assistant General Service Officer / Maintenance is responsible for supporting the maintenance and smooth operation of all company facilities, machinery, generators, electrical systems, and office equipment.
The role ensures that all infrastructure and operational equipment function optimally with minimal downtime to support uninterrupted business operations.


Key Responsibilities
Facility & Building Maintenance:


Carry out routine inspection and maintenance of company buildings and infrastructure.
Ensure office, factory, hatchery, and operational facilities remain in good working condition.
Identify and report structural defects, damages, or maintenance needs promptly.
Coordinate repairs of plumbing, roofing, painting, flooring, and other facility issues.


Machinery & Equipment Maintenance:


Monitor, maintain, and support repairs of operational machines and equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance on machines to reduce breakdowns and downtime.
Ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Maintain proper servicing schedules for all machinery.


Generator & Power Management:


Monitor and maintain company generators and power systems.
Ensure generators are serviced regularly and functional at all times.
Track generator performance, fuel usage, and maintenance records.
Respond promptly to generator faults and electrical issues.


Electrical & Appliance Management:


Ensure all electrical installations, appliances, and systems function optimally.
Troubleshoot minor electrical faults and coordinate major repairs when necessary.
Monitor lighting systems, air conditioners, fans, refrigerators, and other appliances.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and procedures.


Operational Support:


Ensure there is minimal or no operational downtime due to maintenance failures.
Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies and breakdowns.
Liaise with external technicians, contractors, and vendors when required.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, and maintenance activities.


Health, Safety & Compliance:


Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies.
Promote safe handling of tools, equipment, and electrical systems.
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.


Working Conditions:


The role may require working beyond regular hours during emergency maintenance situations.
Candidate must be willing to work in factory, hatchery, or field operational environments where applicable.

Qualifications & Requirements


OND/HND/B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Operations, or related field.
2 - 4 years maintenance experience in an agro-allied, manufacturing, hatchery, or industrial environment.
Good knowledge of electrical systems, generators, machinery, and facility maintenance.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies promptly.
