Requirements :


Grade 12, Basic R425 qualification (i.e., An appropriate bachelor's degree/ Diploma in nursing or equivalent qualifications that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council) as a professional nurse.
A minimum of eight (8) years appropriate /recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse with SANC. At least three (3) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience at management level.
Must have Health Science Management/ Nursing Administration with a duration of at least 1 year, accredited with South African Nursing Council. Should have strong leadership, communication, problem solving and conflict management skills. Must have basic computer skills. Be prepared to work weekend, public holidays, after hours and night duty.


Duties :


Delegate, supervise and co-ordinate the provision of quality nursing care by the nursing team in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards. Work effectively and amicably at management level with persons of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Able to manage own work and that of units reporting to the post and ensure appropriate interventions to enhance nursing services at facility level. Display a concern for patients, promoting, advocating, and facilitating proper treatment and care. Monitor and ensure the implementation and adherence to Batho Pele principles and Ministerial priorities. Demonstrate a basic understanding of Human Resources and Financial Management. Participate in training, research and CPD (Continuous Professional Development).
Manage resources effectively and efficiently. (Human and Material). Demonstrate basic understanding of the legislative framework governing the public service. Participate in the analysis, formulation and the implementation of nursing guidelines, SOP`s, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge and participation in the implementation of the patient's safety incidents and complaints management. Demonstrate knowledge and implementation of disciplinary and grievance procedure, and Ideal Hospital Realisation and Maintenance (IHRM) to improve service delivery.
