Job Summary


The Auto Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in vehicles during the manufacturing and assembly process.
The role requires strong knowledge of automotive wiring systems, electrical diagnostics, and electronic components to ensure vehicles meet operational and safety standards before delivery.


Key Responsibilities
Installation of Electrical Systems:


Install wiring harnesses, lighting systems, batteries, alternators, sensors, control modules, and other electrical components.
Ensure proper routing and secure fastening of cables and connectors.
Interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings for accurate installation.


Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:


Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
Identify and repair issues related to ignition systems, lighting, charging systems, and electronic modules.
Conduct functional tests to ensure systems operate correctly.


Maintenance & Repairs:


Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical components.
Repair or replace defective wiring, switches, relays, fuses, and connectors.
Support corrective actions for production-related electrical defects.


Quality Assurance:


Inspect completed electrical installations to ensure compliance with company standards and safety requirements.
Report recurring electrical issues and suggest improvement measures.


Equipment & Tool Handling:


Safely use electrical diagnostic tools, multimeters, scan tools, and crimping tools.
Maintain proper care and storage of tools and equipment.


Safety & Compliance:


Adhere to HSE and electrical safety standards.
Use appropriate PPE when handling electrical components.
Ensure compliance with automotive manufacturing quality standards.


Job Requirements


SSCE / OND / HND in Automobile Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Technical certification in Automotive Electrical Systems is an added advantage.
4 - 8 years experience as an Auto-Electrician in an automobile manufacturing or assembly plant.
Hands-on experience with modern vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics.


Technical Skills:


Strong knowledge of automotive wiring systems and electronic control units (ECUs).
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
Understanding of vehicle electrical troubleshooting and repair processes.
