Job Summary


The Auto-Mechanic is responsible for assembling, inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical components of vehicles during the manufacturing and assembly process.
The role ensures that engines, transmissions, suspension systems, braking systems, and other mechanical parts are properly installed and functioning according to company and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Assembly & Installation:


Assemble and install engines, gearboxes, suspension systems, steering components, braking systems, and exhaust systems.
Fit mechanical components according to technical drawings and specifications.
Ensure proper alignment and secure installation of parts.


Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:


Identify mechanical faults and perform corrective repairs.
Use diagnostic tools to test engine performance and mechanical systems.
Conduct pre-delivery mechanical inspections.


Preventive Maintenance & Repairs:


Perform routine servicing and mechanical adjustments.
Repair or replace defective components.
Support corrective action for production defects.


Quality Control:


Inspect completed mechanical installations to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
Report recurring issues and suggest improvement measures.
Ensure vehicles meet safety and performance requirements before release.


Equipment & Tool Handling:


Safely use mechanical tools, torque wrenches, lifting equipment, and diagnostic devices.
Maintain and properly store tools and workshop equipment.


Safety & Compliance:


Follow all HSE guidelines and workshop safety procedures.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.


Job Requirements
Educational Qualification:


OND / HND in Automobile Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
Trade test certification or vocational training in auto mechanics is an added advantage.


Experience:


4 - 8 years' experience as an Auto-Mechanic in an automobile manufacturing or vehicle assembly company.
Hands-on experience with engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and braking systems.


Technical Skills:


Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and service manuals.
Skilled in use of diagnostic and mechanical repair tools.
Understanding of automotive quality standards and safety procedures.
