Key Responsibilities


Supervise daily activities of the automobile unit, including drivers and mechanics.
Plan and oversee deployment and scheduling of factory vehicles.
Ensure all assigned vehicles are operational, serviced, and ready for use.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for vehicles.
Maintain up-to-date service and maintenance records.
Liaise with mechanics and vendors for spare parts procurement and repair support.
Manage driver schedules, performance, and adherence to transport policies.
Ensure compliance with all safety and traffic regulations.
Allocate manpower and vehicle resources efficiently to meet operational needs.
Maintain detailed records of servicing, repairs, and fuel consumption.
Prepare and submit regular reports to the HOD-Engineering.
Track automobile expenditures and implement cost-saving measures.
Enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards in all automobile operations.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with vehicle usage procedures.


Qualifications & Requirements


Education: B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related field.
Experience: Must have 5-7 years relevant experience in automobile maintenance, fleet management, or supervision (preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting).
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and workshop operations.
Ability to plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
Proficiency in record keeping, cost tracking, and logistics coordination.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and safety awareness.
Ability to manage teams effectively and work under pressure.
