Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and globally minded Barista to join our team and deliver world-class specialty coffee experiences.
At Mai Shayi Coffee Roaster's Limited, a Barista is not simply a beverage maker, You are:

You will be responsible for preparing exceptional coffee and tea beverages with precision and consistency, delivering outstanding hospitality, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and professionalism.
This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, speed under pressure, and a genuine passion for specialty coffee.


Key Responsibilities
Specialty Beverage Craftsmanship:


Expertly prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, pour-overs, manual brews, signature drinks, and specialty teas with precision and consistency.
Dial in espresso daily, monitor extraction quality, and adjust grind size and yield for optimal flavor.
Maintain high standards in milk texturing, latte art, and beverage presentation.
Ensure consistency in taste, temperature, and visual appeal in every cup served.


Equipment Operation & Maintenance:


Operate and maintain professional espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment in line with global best practices.
Ensure optimal performance of equipment through routine calibration and cleaning.
Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.


Guest Experience & Coffee Education:


Deliver warm, confident, and professional service at all times.
Engage guests with knowledge of coffee origins, processing methods, roast profiles, and flavor notes.
Make informed recommendations tailored to guest preferences.
Handle guest feedback professionally and contribute to service recovery where necessary.


Café Operations & Team Collaboration:


Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee station at all times.
Support smooth service flow by working closely with hostesses, servers, kitchen staff, and management.
Assist with opening and closing procedures, including inventory checks, cleaning schedules, and restocking.
Contribute to maintaining a premium, luxury café environment.


Continuous Learning & Brand Representation:


Continuously develop knowledge of specialty coffee, brewing methods, and machine technology.
Participate in internal training sessions and certification programs.
Represent the Mai Shayi Coffee brand with professionalism, confidence, and integrity.


Core Requirements


Prior experience as a Barista is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of espresso extraction and milk texturing
Passion for specialty coffee and hospitality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-end environment
High level of personal grooming and professional presentation
Flexible and willing to work across multiple locations if required


Preferred (But Not Mandatory):


Certification in specialty coffee (SCA or equivalent)
Experience with high-end espresso machines
Knowledge of manual brewing techniques ( Chemex, AeroPress, etc.)
Experience in luxury hospitality environments.
