Boarding Matron (Fixed Term) at Reddam House Helderfontein

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pastoral Care and Student Wellbeing


Build positive and supportive relationships with all boarders.
Monitor student welfare and wellbeing.
Provide pastoral support for personal, social, emotional and developmental needs.


Boarding Operations


Oversee the daily operation of the co-educational boarding house.
Supervise and support boarders during daily routines.
Ensure appropriate supervision and pastoral care for boys and girls in line with school policies.


Parent Communication


Build strong relationships with parents and guardians.
Communicate effectively regarding boarding, student welfare and pastoral matters.


Student Welfare and Daily Support


Maintain a visible and accessible presence throughout the school day and within the boarding environment.
Support students with daily routines, organisation, wellbeing and pastoral needs.
Coordinate medical appointments, medication and healthcare requirements in accordance with school policies.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Experience and Personal Attributes:


Demonstrated experience providing pastoral care and student support within a school, boarding or residential environment.
Ability to establish trusting relationships with adolescents while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and student wellbeing practices.
Willingness to participate fully in the life of a busy boarding community.
