Job Description
An established investment company is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper with hospitality industry exposure to manage the day-to-day financial administration of multiple restaurant entities. The role includes full bookkeeping responsibilities together with payroll administration and requires someone comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment. The candidate must have strong Xero experience and be proficient in SimplePay for payroll processing.
This is a full-time role based in Sandton, Monday - Friday (8am - 4 pm)
Key Responsibilities
Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
Managing financial records across multiple hospitality entities
Bank, credit card, and payment platform reconciliations
Capturing and maintaining transactions in Xero
Reconciling restaurant POS sales and daily revenue
Assisting with month-end financial close
Processing and administering monthly payroll through SimplePay
Managing PAYE, UIF, SDL deductions and payroll compliance
Handling employee payroll records, leave balances, and payroll queries
Requirements
Key Requirements
3 - 5+ years' bookkeeping experience
Related tertiary qualification
Hospitality or restaurant industry experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of Xero
Experience processing payroll on SimplePay
Good understanding of South African payroll and tax compliance
Strong reconciliation and administrative skills
Ability to manage multiple entities and high transaction volumes
