Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to identify, pursue, and secure new logistics and transport business opportunities.
The role focuses on client acquisition, market expansion, and revenue growth across haulage, fleet services, and distribution operations.
This position is structured as a performance-driven contract engagement, offering a fixed monthly retainer alongside attractive commissions on successfully secured business.


Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Acquisition:


Identify and pursue new business opportunities within logistics, transportation, and supply chain sectors.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of potential clients across FMCG, manufacturing, oil & gas, and distribution industries.
Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and procurement teams.
Conduct market research to identify new service opportunities and emerging logistics needs.


Sales & Commercial Engagement:


Lead client engagement, presentations, and commercial discussions.
Collaborate with internal teams (pricing, operations, and finance) to develop competitive proposals and service solutions.
Support negotiations and closure of contracts with prospective clients.
Ensure commercial proposals align with company pricing and operational capabilities.


Revenue Growth & Market Expansion:


Drive revenue generation by securing logistics contracts and long-term service agreements.
Track and manage sales pipeline, conversion rates, and revenue targets.
Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to support business strategy.


Client Relationship Management:


Ensure smooth transition of newly acquired clients to operations teams for service execution.
Maintain strong client relationships to support retention, renewals, and service expansion opportunities.
Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and networking engagements.


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Logistics, or related discipline.
5 - 8 years' experience in business development, preferably within logistics, transport, or supply chain sectors.
Proven track record of generating new business and closing commercial deals.
Strong industry network and market knowledge is a significant advantage.

Engagement Structure & Compensation


This role is structured as a contract-based business development engagement designed to reward performance and revenue generation.


Compensation Structure:


Monthly Retainer: N300,000
Commission: A competitive percentage of revenue generated from secured contracts, payable upon successful client acquisition and contract execution.
The commission structure is designed to reward high-performing professionals who are confident in generating new business and expanding the company's client portfolio.
