Role Summary
The Business Management & Economics Teacher will deliver engaging, inquiry-driven instruction within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and real-world application of business and economic concepts. The role involves guiding students to understand local and global economic systems, organizational practices, and ethical decision-making while developing their research, communication, and evaluation skills. The teacher will contribute to a collaborative teaching environment, integrate interdisciplinary learning, and support the holistic development of students as reflective, responsible global citizens aligned with the Academy's mission and IB philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in IB MYP Individuals & Societies and DP Business Management and/or Economics.
Design inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with IB frameworks, including ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills.
Develop and implement schemes of work, unit plans and assessments in line with IB standards.
Prepare students for internal and external IB assessments, including coursework and examinations.
Integrate real-world business and economic contexts into teaching to enhance conceptual understanding.
Foster critical thinking, data analysis and research skills in students.
Monitor, assess and provide timely feedback on student progress using IB assessment criteria.
Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and curriculum development.
Promote academic honesty and uphold IB learner profile attributes.
Participate in co-curricular activities, student mentorship and school events.
The requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Economics, or a related field with a teaching qualification.
3 years' of IB Middle Years' Programme and/or IB Diploma teaching experience.
Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration certificate.
