We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our Finance & Accounts team. The successful candidate will handle billing, payments, and receipts while ensuring accuracy, integrity, and excellent customer service in line with hospital policies.


Responsibilities


Process patient bills, payments, and receipts (cash, cards, mobile money, and insurance co-pays).
Verify billing information and ensure accuracy of charges before posting.
Handle insurance pre-authorizations and communicate billing requirements to patients.
Reconcile daily cash collections and prepare end-of-day reports.
Maintain proper records of transactions in the hospital information system.
Safeguard cash and ensure timely handover to the Finance department.
Address patient billing inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
Support credit control processes by highlighting unpaid balances and following up as directed.
Ensure compliance with hospital financial policies and confidentiality standards.


Qualifications


Minimum Diploma in Accountancy /CPA II/ Diploma in Front office operations
Minimum of 2 Years experience in Cashiering or Financial roles preferably in Healthcare set up.
Understanding of healthcare billing procedures and insurance claims processes.
Proficiency in Computerized Accounting & MS Office
Proficiency in handling financial transactions, including cash, credit, and digital payments.

Strong Mathematical Skills & attention to detail
Excellent communication skills

Willing to collaborate with team members.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Ability to handle cash and electronic payments securely and responsibly
