Generic Requirements:


Be in possession of a Senior Certificate / Grade 12 / National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NL-RD) on at least NQF level 4;
Applicants must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post;
Be proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English;
Be a citizen of the Republic of South Africa of which documentary proof must be furnished on the day of interview;
Must have no previous convictions or pending criminal / departmental or civil cases;
Must not have tattoo/s marks which will be visible when wearing any uniform of the Service;
Computer Literacy;
Interpersonal, communication and Organizational Skills;
Analytical, Self-Management and Problem Solving Skills;
Report Writing, presentation, development skills;
Relevant courses in the field of the post may be an advantage.


Additional Requirements:


Must be initiated as a Hindu priest or spiritual leader and registered with a recognised Hindu Organisation.
A (3) three-year Diploma/ Degree in any field of study (accredited by SAQA on NQF 6 level or higher) will be advantageous.
Proof of Academic Record of qualification/s from recognized academic institution.
A religious-related qualification will be advantageous.
Proof of a valid initiation certificate as priest or spiritual leader.
Applicant must submit a valid good standing certificate issued by an established and recognised Hindu religious organisation.
Must have at least one (1) year proven post-initiation experience as a Hindu priest/ spiritual leader.
Must be in possession of a valid driver's license.
Must be medically, physically, and mentally fit.


Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:


Must have strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, group facilitation and presentation abilities, conflict resolution and problem-solving expertise.
Proficiency in MS Office, experience with virtual service delivery platforms and programme development and evaluation skills will be advantageous.
Must be in possession of a valid driver's license.
Must be medically, physically, and mentally fit.


Core Functions:


Lead spiritual interventions across SAPS Divisions.
Develop and implement professional spiritual support programmes to SAPS employees
Provide spiritual care and guidance to SAPS employees and families.
Create spiritual wellness initiatives.
Establish and maintain religious support networks.
Design and deliver proactive wellness programmes.
Implement multi-disciplinary health and wellness interventions.
Develop and maintain Spiritual Services protocols.
Provide Expert guidance on Hindu religious matters.
Facilitate interfaith understanding and cooperation.
