MINIMUM - COMPETENCIES
Excellent technical, report writing, and presentation skills. Innovative problem-solving ability. The ability to work independently at strategic, production, and execution levels. Applied knowledge of all relevant built environment legislative/regulatory requirements of national and international standards (CIDB/ISO/SANS). Ability and willingness to travel.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum three (03) years of Bachelor's Degree/BTech/ B. Eng/BSc Engineering in Civil Engineering NQF Level 07. Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer/ Technologist. Proven minimum six (06) years of Civil Engineering experience in Roads, Building Construction, Supervision, and Maintenance. A valid driver's license.
DUTIES
Support and monitor the province's infrastructure Departments and Municipalities. Review, evaluate, and analyze infrastructure reports and details against industry best-practice norms as applicable to strategic infrastructure planning, new, upgrading, and maintenance contracts. Provide technical, hands-on, specialized support and technical reports in the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of proposed infrastructure projects. Undertake regular inspections and evaluation of infrastructure Projects within the Province. Undertake ad hoc auditing of Civil Engineering professional account/s and Civil Engineering contract final accounts. Provide mentorship to candidate engineers and technicians, and other employees within the infrastructure value chain. Manage human and financial resources.
