Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Corporate Governance
Develop and implement the organization's vision, mission, and long-term strategic plan.
Advise and report to the Board of Directors on performance, risks, and opportunities.
Ensure strong corporate governance and ethical business practices.
Lead organizational change and transformation initiatives.
Business Growth and Expansion
Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and investment prospects.
Drive market expansion locally and internationally.
Oversee product diversification and value addition initiatives.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with investors, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
Operational Oversight
Provide executive oversight of farming operations, processing, logistics, and distribution.
Ensure optimal use of land, equipment, labor, and capital resources.
Monitor productivity, efficiency, and cost management across operations.
Approve operational policies and performance standards.
Financial Management
Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
Monitor revenue performance, profitability, and cost control measures.
Ensure financial sustainability and risk mitigation.
Approve major capital expenditures and investments.
Risk, Compliance and sustainability
Ensure compliance with agricultural, environmental, and labor regulations.
Oversee enterprise risk management strategies.
Promote sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship.
Ensure workplace health and safety standards are maintained.
Leadership and Talent Management
Provide overall leadership and direction to senior management.
Foster a high-performance and accountable organizational culture.
Support succession planning and leadership development.
Promote employee engagement and retention strategies.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Business Administration, or related field
MBA preferred
Professional training in corporate governance is an added advantage
Minimum 10 - 15 years' senior leadership experience
At least 5 years in executive management within agriculture or agribusiness
