Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the bank's financial strategy, including capital planning, funding strategy, and profitability targets.
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process across all departments.
Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
Monitor performance against budget monthly and present variance analysis to the MD and Board.
Advise on investment decisions, pricing of financial products, and cost optimisation opportunities.
Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and CBN requirements.
Ensure timely submission of all CBN financial returns — monthly balance sheet, income statement, prudential returns.
Coordinate year-end audit processes with the CBN-approved external auditor.
Identify, assess, and manage financial risks including credit, market, interest rate, and operational risk.
Develop and monitor financial risk indicators and escalate emerging risks to the MD and Board.
Design and maintain a robust system of internal financial controls across all accounting and finance functions.
Ensure segregation of duties in financial transactions and approval processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Mandatory professional qualification: ACA (ICAN), ACCA, or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in finance/accounting, with at least 4 years in financial services.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, CBN prudential guidelines, FIRS tax regulations, and microfinance accounting.
